PART I - SCENE I

For us, it’s been a trying couple of weeks since everything around us changed so dramatically. At first we thought it would last a few days at most and things would recalibrate.🤔 However the more we listened and the more we read (which isn’t always the best thing to do at a time like this), we began to realize that it would take a few weeks, possibly a few months, until life as it once was would reclaim its throne.🙏
So now we wait in patience that the world we are reintroduced to is a world that welcomes us back with open arms and open hearts.❤️

During the time that we wait, we have decided to wait with you. We want to take this rare opportunity given to us to learn more about each one of you, our supporters and friends who have stood by our side from the beginning. 🤗
We also plan on reminding you of who we are and what we are about. This includes sharing with you the extremely talented people who support us by using our sapphires in their works of art. And just like us, these artists (who we will refer to as jewellery designers) are also having to be patient at this time, resilient in fact.
We invite you to join us on our upcoming journey as we retell the origin story of @sorbetsapphire and how it came to be and most importantly what it dreams of becoming. 😊 Stay tuned and THANK YOU for your support and love for our sapphires! 👍✨

PART I - SCENE II

It probably makes sense to begin our story at the very beginning. Some would call this our ‘Origin Story’ 🕰.
In 2012, @sorbetsapphire did not yet exist. Plain and simple. But that would all change when our founder, Justin Opert, was invited by a very generous individual and his wonderful family to Bangkok, Thailand 🇹🇭 , to learn more about the storied history of sapphires and rubies.
In truth, Justin knew very little about these two precious gems but he was truly grateful for the opportunity and when he returned from his life-changing journey, he was determined to share his new found knowledge for spectacular, coloured sapphires with the Canadian market 🇨🇦.
That’s all he really knew at the time; that through circumstance he been introduced to something that he was in awe of and felt the inner desire to translate this passion into a business - Sorbet Sapphire 🌈.

PART I - SCENE III

When Sorbet Sapphire first launched, the most practical decision for Justin was to share the exciting news that he was going to be offering sapphires in a spectrum of colours/shapes/sizes. 🌈 This was easy because it meant talking & asking jewellery retailers to showcase these special gemstones in their stores/studios and help spread the ‘sapphire gospel’. 📖
One day at a time, one sapphire at a time, Justin would knock on doors and introduce himself and his collection of coloured, sapphires. ✨ Sometimes Justin would have the door closed on him but most of the time he would be welcomed in and was given the opportunity to share his adventure.
Fast forward 8 years ⌛️ and Justin decided it was time to do more than just sell sapphires. Justin had noticed that there were many local jewellery designers who were ambitious, hardworking, and talented. The problem was that most of them were isolated and unable to talk about their ideas/dreams with others in similar circumstances. 🤔
That’s when Justin introduced ‘Sorbet Society’ to these designers and as they say, the rest is history! 🤗 It might have only been less than a year ago but there is so much already being planned for the upcoming weeks and months so stay tuned as we introduce you to each member of #sorbetsociety and begin to feature their jewellery collections and stories with you. 🙏
