How to choose the most beautiful colour for your Sapphire

Colours make the world go around!

So I’m sure we can all agree that colours make the world go round. They are everywhere and are visible in pretty much everything. How we perceive colour and understand it in our everyday life can differ quite a bit. Once introduced to the beautiful world of sapphires, you learn very quickly that there are so many amazing options to choose from. This got me thinking…with all these choices, how do you decide on a colour?

As simple as it may sound, just liking a colour can’t be enough, right? There must be more to it. What impresses me about choosing a sapphire is that the process is quite subjective. Deciding on that perfect hue and that ideal saturation has so much to do with the feelings it generates in one’s self.

What does it represent for you? In essence, choosing something as precious and unique as an untreated, coloured sapphire brings with it a journey of its own.

Personally I’m a huge lover of the colour purple and besides for its gorgeous beauty (to me), the colour purple invokes feelings of royalty and strength and that is certainly something that represents who I am. Yellow for instance is believed to be the colour of happiness, optimism, enlightenment and creativity. Green on the other hand represents inspiration and a sense of uplifting which suggests abundance and wealth. Do you want to take a guess what pink represents? If love, compassion, and understanding came to mind then you’d be right.

Now don’t get me wrong, there are many other reasons to choose a colour and rightfully so. But isn’t that in itself truly beautiful? When picking a sapphire that represents both you and your personality, we can all be a little bit different from one another.

At the end of the day, that’s why Sorbet Sapphire exists; to offer each of us a chance to let our true personality shine through by wearing a piece of jewellery that represent who we truly are.
